Industrial Cleaner / Janitor
Department: Maintenance/Janitorial
Reports To: Maintenance Janitorial Team Lead
Responsibilities
· Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
· Gather and empty trash.
· Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
· Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
· Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
· Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
· Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
· Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
· Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
· Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
· Disinfect and sanitize work areas in accordance with regular scheduling of disinfection/sanitization
· Comply with all health, personal safety and food safety policies and procedures
· All other duties as assigned and needed
Schedule:
Day shift hours are 5:00 am to 5:00 pm with a rotating schedule:
Week 1: Work 4 days = M/T/F/S, 48 hrs including 8 hrs of overtime (OT rate = $27.00 per hr!)
Week 2: Work 3 days = SU/W/TH, 36 hr week
Qualifications/Skills:
· HS diploma or equivalent
· Dependability and a strong attendance record
· A willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and ability to work well with co-workers
· Process oriented and excellent attention to detail
· Great communication skills and getting along with co-workers
· Flexible schedule for on-call / overtime work
· Must have reliable transportation
Essential Physical Requirements:
· Mobility in a manufacturing environment, including stairs and ladders, with a high level of exertion and flexibility for up to 12 hours per shift
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Able to climb ladders/ fall-protection that may be required for cleaning equipment
