Job Summary
The motherboard repair technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair server motherboards at the component level in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves identifying hardware failures, replacing defective components, performing precision soldering, and ensuring repaired boards meet quality standards before testing.
Pay
$24 per hour

Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot server motherboards to identify hardware failures
- Inspect boards for customer-induced damage and determine repair eligibility
- Perform component-level repairs, including soldering and component replacement
- Follow repair procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
- Inspect solder joints for cold solder, shorts, bridges, shifted pads, and correct polarity
- Clean repaired boards by removing excess flux and residue
- Perform functional checks before sending boards to the testing department
- Organize repair tools, replacement parts, and non-conforming materials
- Maintain accurate repair records and daily KPI reports
- Complete daily ESD audits and maintain compliance with ESD procedures
- Support other production areas, including inspection, testing, soldering, and data entry, as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or technical training in electronics preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing computers, servers, or electronic circuit boards preferred
- Experience with component-level troubleshooting and soldering
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills for tracking repairs and production data
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and quality
- Experience with hand tools, soldering irons, and electronic repair equipment
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Goal-oriented with the ability to meet production KPIs
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
