Austin Landscaping is a maintenance, design and build company based out of Houston, Texas. We primarily serve the Medical Center, Bellaire, River Oaks, Memorial and Meyerland residential homes. We have been operating for over 30 years but have recently changed management and are currently experiencing rapid growth in the high end residential markets. We are a small supportive organization with better than average pay. We support our employees professional development with training, knowledge and certification support and offer a supportive and congenial work environment. We offer full time schedules, over time and do not require Saturday work unless we are behind schedule from unforeseen events. We run both landscape design and install teams and maintenance teams and we do expect all of our employees to be cross trained and flexible in moving across teams.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to start no later than October 1st 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of our high end maintenance teams, including direct supervision of a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget, and providing guidance and direction to ensure that all safety protocols are followed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors and a strong understanding of landscaping and maintenance techniques and best practices. You would be expected to assist the teams directly in their tasks as this is not just a supervisory role. We operate under a team approach although in this position you would be lead and accountable for the work performance of your team and our teams usually consist of 2 to 3 members total. Due to the rapid growth we are experiencing there would be ample growth opportunities to move into leading multiple maintenance teams (or landscape teams) within the next 2-3 years. The position is for a 5 day Monday through Friday schedule as well with Saturdays as optional unless your team is behind that week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a high end maintenance team to service approximately 15 homes per day
- Directly responsible for the quality of your team’s work
- Assist in reviewing and coordinating the day’s schedule with the Operations Manager and prepare for the day
- Follow a detailed maintenance route and schedule laid out in software application (will provide software application training)
- Inspect and maintain all landscaping equipment.
- Keep all equipment secure at all times
- Ensure that all safety regulations are followed
- Train and mentor new employees in proper techniques
- Communicate issues and needs of each property you manage to your Operations Manager
- Occasionally discuss specific issues or requests directly with clients
- Learn to identify turf and landscape diseases as well as implement appropriate treatment plans under your Operations Manager’s guidance
- Organize equipment needs each morning and manage loading and unloading each day
- Logging hours of your team each day for weekly payroll
- Learn to manage irrigation system boxes to assist clients in appropriate lawn and landscape irrigation
- Communicate any employee or team issues affecting performance to your Operations Manager
- Use technology to upload forms and reports regarding client and equipment issues.
Requirements:
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Disciplined and dedicated with a sense of urgency and integrity
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lift/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. As well as standing/walking for long periods
- Valid driver's license
- Pass a Motor Vehicle Report
- Proficiency in various landscaping and lawn care tools and equipment
- Proficient in English and some Spanish preferred
- Worked in the field of maintenance or landscaping for 3 years with Crew Leader experienced preferred
- 3 reliable work or school related references that can be verified
- Be able to perform basic use of all related maintenance equipment
- Be able to drive safely with a 16 foot trailer in heavy traffic and in residential areas
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: 45K to 52K per year on average depending on hours worked and experience coming into the position. We give pay raises up to twice per year based on the last period's performance and accomplishments.

Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay. We do provide bonuses throughout the year based on meeting certain project goals and timelines as well as a monthly bonus based on driving performance. We also bonus at the end of year based on annual company performance and growth.
