Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and energetic Hair Braider, Loctician, Barber, or Alopecia Specialist to join our dynamic salon team. In this role, you will deliver exceptional hair styling, braiding, loc maintenance, barbering, and specialized scalp treatments to clients seeking vibrant, healthy hair. Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including braiding, loc styling, barber cuts, and scalp treatments tailored to each client’s needs
- Offer expert advice on hair extensions, color theory, and hair care routines to enhance client satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment in accordance with salon sanitation standards
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records management, and retail sales tracking
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with clients professionally and ensuring their comfort throughout services
- Upsell retail products like hair extensions, styling tools, and hair care products to meet client needs and boost revenue
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care, and retail sales strategies
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license with experience in hair styling techniques including braiding, locs, and scalp care. Not required for Braiders.
- Proficiency in salon software systems such as GlossGenius for scheduling
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
- Skilled in color theory application for customized hair coloring services
- Experience with retail sales techniques including upselling and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities
- Excellent communication skills to understand client needs and provide clear styling recommendations
- Ability to perform diverse services such as hair extensions, straight razor shaves, eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care, and hair threading
- Store management experience is a plus for those interested in leadership roles within the salon
