About the Role
North Haven Public Schools is seeking a passionate General Music, Band, and Chorus
teacher. In this full-time role, the candidate will foster a love for music, build foundational
skills, and create an engaging learning environment for K-5 students.
Core Responsibilities
? Instruction: Deliver engaging weekly K-5 general music lessons using singing,
movement, and hands-on activities as well as providing some instrumental band
lessons to students in grades 4-5
? Ensembles: Direct the Grades 4-5 Chorus and some Grades 4-5 band lessons
? Performances: Prepare students for and conduct the winter and spring concerts.
? Curriculum: Follow the district instructional program while using ongoing
assessments to track progress.
? Collaboration: Partner with families, administrators, and the K-12 music
department to support the district's music program.
Qualifications
? Certification: Valid Connecticut Music Certification (049, PreK-12) required.
? Skills: Deep knowledge of elementary music methods and strong classroom
management.
? Traits: Excellent communication, organization, and a collaborative mindset.
