JOB SUMMARY
As a Guest Room Attendant, you are responsible for ensuring our guests experience a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. This role performs a variety of tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in guest rooms and public areas. Attention to detail, consistency, and dedication to exceptional service directly contribute to guest satisfaction and the overall hotel experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Room Cleaning and Maintenance
- Clean and prepare approximately 15 guest rooms per day, including making beds with fresh linens.
- Vacuum carpets thoroughly, including under beds, skirts, desks, and behind nightstands.
- Clean and dust furniture and surfaces, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, inside and outside door panels, door ledges, and thresholds.
- Sweep and mop tile floors.
- Clean bathrooms and ensure bathtubs, showers, ledges, sinks, vanity shelves, toilets, and vases are spot-free and dust-free.
- Replace linens, towels, and amenities as needed while maintaining high hygiene and presentation standards.
- Report maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor promptly.
Guest Services
- Provide friendly and efficient service to guests, addressing requests or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Ensure guest preferences and special requests are met whenever possible.
- Respond to inquiries about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
Inventory and Supplies
- Manage and restock housekeeping supplies, including cleaning agents, linens, and toiletries.
- Maintain an organized and tidy housekeeping cart and storage area.
Health and Safety
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals, lifting protocols, universal precautions, and use of wet floor signs.
- Adhere to hotel policies and procedures for room keys.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with housekeeping staff and other departments to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.
Miscellaneous
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least six (6) months of previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Outstanding communication and active listening skills.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move items as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
- Requires standing, using stairs, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the shift for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in small spaces.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying room conditions.
