Job Purpose:
The Receiving Clerk at Truitt and White Lumber Company is responsible for managing the accurate and efficient handling of products from and to our suppliers. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that all products are received and dispatched correctly, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain. The Receiving Clerk will work collaboratively within a team environment, maintaining a professional attitude and effective communication skills to support the company's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle the receipt and dispatch of products with precision and accuracy.
- Maintain detailed records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Utilize computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
- Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure smooth operations.
- Call customers in a timely manner once their special-order products have been received.
- Foster a professional and pleasant working environment through effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding product handling.
- Perform counting and mathematical tasks to verify product quantities.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to shipments.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized receiving area.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
- Experience working in a team environment.
Experience with inventory management systems or related computer software.
