Duties
- Safely load, unload, and organize packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or carts.
- Drive a box truck or personal vehicle along designated routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Deliver packages directly to customers’ homes or businesses, ensuring accurate and timely drop-offs while providing friendly customer service.
- Use mobile devices to track deliveries, update status reports, and communicate with dispatch teams throughout your route.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation during daily deliveries.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual lifting practices that prioritize safety when handling heavy or bulky items.
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, route progress, and any incidents encountered during shifts.
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or courier services is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box trucks is preferred.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Proven ability to lift heavy packages safely while following safe lifting practices and adhering to weight handling regulations in the workplace.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safe driving practices for load & unload activities.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward community engagement.
- Comfortable working with mobile devices for route navigation and delivery documentation.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including moving packages, loading/unloading cargo, and standing or walking for extended periods.
