Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure smooth functioning.
- Support sales management efforts by motivating the team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching and training.
- Supervise staff performance, conduct employee orientation sessions, and participate in interviewing potential team members.
- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maintain an attractive and well-organized store environment.
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and cashiering activities accurately.
- Support purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and promotional activities aligned with store goals.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail sales management or supervisory roles within the retail industry.
- Strong background in employee recruitment, training & development, and team supervision.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, customer service excellence, and effective communication across diverse audiences (including multilingual or bilingual abilities).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS technology, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and retail math principles.
- Experience with operational management tasks such as budgeting, merchandising, stock control, and marketing initiatives.
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple responsibilities under time constraints.
