Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Credit Union Manager to join our team. In this vital role, you will work closely with the President/CEO to oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of exceptional member service. As a small credit union, we pride ourselves on building deep relationships within our community. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the financial services industry—ideally within a credit union framework—and a passion for guiding both staff and members toward financial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Assist in managing day-to-day branch operations, ensuring accuracy in cash handling, vault management, and daily balancing.
- Member Relations: Deliver outstanding personalized service, resolve complex member issues, and promote credit union products and services (loans, accounts, etc.) that fit members' financial needs.
- Staff Development: Supervise, mentor, and train frontline staff (tellers and member service representatives) to enhance their skills, efficiency, and compliance awareness.
- Lending & Underwriting: Assist with consumer loan processing, interviewing applicants, reviewing credit profiles, and preparing loan packages for approval within established guidelines.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure the branch adheres to all federal and state financial regulations, including BSA/AML, Reg CC, Reg E, and internal security policies.
- Administrative Support: Help manage employee scheduling, payroll reporting, and routine branch audits.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in the financial industry (banking or credit union), with a strong preference for candidates with direct credit union experience.
- Leadership: Minimum 1–2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role within a financial institution.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of credit union philosophy, consumer lending practices, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Core Banking Systems (e.g., CMCFlex) and standard office software (MS Office/Google Workspace).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong conflict-resolution abilities, and a member-first mindset.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
