American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1-2 years of OR experience for a rotating day/evening shift in a Level II Trauma community hospital.

Work in a 15-bed operating room within a Level II Trauma, complex community hospital setting
-
Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
-
Typical census averages 30-40 surgical cases per day
-
Shifts are primarily 7:00am-5:30pm with 1-2 rotations to evenings (1:00pm-11:30pm) per 4-week cycle

Weekend rotation and call required approximately every 4 weeks, with 2-3 weekday calls per 4-week schedule

EMR used is Epic; prior Epic experience preferred

No floating required

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required, valid through either NBSTSA or NCCT
-
Active Massachusetts CST certification required; MA conditional licenses are not accepted (license required if applicable)

Minimum 1-2 years of recent OR experience required

BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required

Experience working in a Level II Trauma setting preferred

Ability to provide care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric surgical patients

Core responsibilities include preparing and maintaining sterile fields, supporting surgeons during procedures, and collaborating with the perioperative care team

Surg Techs are not responsible for cardiac monitoring or telemetry
-
Flu vaccination is required with no religious or medical exemptions permitted

Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to be eligible for standard travel rates

Team-oriented environment with support from experienced staff
