Positive Minds Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Pre-Algebra / Algebra Teacher to work with students in Grades 5–9 in a supportive, engaging learning environment.
We are looking for an educator who can make math clear, build student confidence, and help students develop strong problem-solving skills and mathematical thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra concepts in small-group classroom settings
- Help students strengthen math foundations, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Teach topics such as integers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, equations, inequalities, algebraic expressions, coordinate graphing, and word problems
- Prepare students for success in middle school and high school math
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents when needed
- Create a positive, encouraging, and structured classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Strong background in Pre-Algebra and Algebra required
- Teaching credential, math degree, or strong math teaching/tutoring experience preferred
- Experience teaching Grades 5–9 preferred
- Ability to explain math concepts clearly and build student confidence
- Experience teaching small groups preferred
- Friendly, patient, dependable, and passionate about student success
Schedule:
Part-time afternoon/evening hours and/or weekends

Pleasanton, CA (In-person) with possible online teaching opportunities
