The Voorheesville Central School District has a full time probationary position for a Building Maintenance Worker at the secondary campus. This is semi-skilled work involving responsibility for independently performing variety of mechanical and other building maintenance tasks.
General Duties
- Work as Maintenance Worker includes performing semi-skilled work as needed. Examples of work include, but are not limited to: perform semi-skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical or painting operations; help install and repair wiring systems and electric fixtures and equipment; repair windows, doors, floors; interior and exterior painting; help to install and repair general plumbing equipment; operates trucks and other motorized equipment. Experience in sports field maintenance, snow removal and lawn care beneficial.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Hours: Generally M-F (6:00a.m.-2:30p.m.), may work occasional weekends, as needed.
- High school graduate, applicable training beyond high school a plus.
- Willingness to work as needed.
- Neat appearance (uniform required).
- Willingness to work the schedule that best suits the District needs.
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
- One (1) year of experience in either general building construction or maintenance work in one or more of the standard trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or grounds keeping.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
- Fingerprint clearance required.
