Overview
Baan Thai Blacksburg is hiring 1-2 kitchen shift leads (sous chef). Seeking full-time commitment, although part-time is available as well. The ideal candidate is experienced with leading: prep, mise-en-place and smooth execution of service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. Servsafe Manager Qualification required or obtained within 4 months of hiring. On-job training provided for cooking with high heat woks.

Pay and Hours
Training pay at $15/hr- first 2 weeks
Hiring pay at $20-$25/hr depending on experience and training period
Hours: 9:30am-4:30pm or 3:00pm-10:30pm
Possibility of same day split shifts with break in between
Responsibilities
Opening and/or closing kitchen adhering to Servsafe practices
Maintaining organization of prep pars, leading prep team in execution
Maintaining organization of stock and ordering pars
Leading cook team in execution of high intensity service
Ensuring all team members are following Servsafe practices at all times
Organizing cleaning of kitchen
Communicating kitchen needs with Chef and General Manager
Qualifications
Servsafe Manager Qualification (may be obtained within 4 months of hiring)
Experience in many areas of kitchen work
Ability to lead without confrontation
Cool head during high intensity service
Attention to detail
Care for food quality and consistency
High quality of personal hygiene and timeliness
