Position Summary:
We are seeking an upbeat, motivated, and detail-oriented Treatment Coordinator Assistant to join our orthodontic team. This role plays a key part in supporting initial patient visits by taking diagnostic photos and preparing materials, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting in orthodontic procedures as part of a training program toward becoming a full Orthodontic Assistant.
Key Responsibilities: Initial Visit Support:
- Take high-quality intraoral and extraoral photographs for new patient consultations.
- Prepare the consultation room and patient records prior to the treatment coordinator’s review.
- Assist the Treatment Coordinator during the initial consultation when needed.
Sterilization & Infection Control:
- Properly sterilize and disinfect all instruments and equipment in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the sterilization area and clinical spaces.
- Track inventory and restock sterilization and hygiene supplies as needed.
Orthodontic Assistant Training (Entry-Level Clinical Duties):
- Observe and assist orthodontic procedures under supervision as part of a structured training pathway.
- Learn proper techniques for handling instruments, taking digital impressions, and applying brackets and wires.
- Follow all clinical protocols and demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional development.
Administrative & Team Support:
- Help ensure a smooth patient flow by supporting clinical and administrative staff where needed.
- Document clinical notes, photographs, and treatment information accurately.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous dental or orthodontic office experience preferred but not required.
- Interest in pursuing a career as an Orthodontic Assistant.
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Must be willing to complete OSHA/HIPAA training and sterilization certification if not already held.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
