Calling all Cooks with that specialize in Mexican breakfasts (chilaquiles, menudo, pancakes, burritos and more). Must be available to work weekends.
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a Cook, you are responsible for encompassing our goal of providing each guest with friendly customer service, and delicious authentic Mexican breakfast.
- Must enjoy working with people; greet guests with a warm and friendly smile and makes them feel welcome.
- Prepare, assemble and serve orders.
- Ensures every serving is plated according to presentation standards.
- Guarantees that orders and customer experience are consistent with our brand, culture, and standard of excellence.
- Communicate clearly with fellow team members and leaders.
- Maintain a sanitary and safe restaurant by mopping, sweeping floors, removing trash, cleaning and equipment care.
- Maintains stock to shift par levels
- Unload delivery truck supplies and place in the proper storage area.
- Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, and Health Inspection Standards.
- Assemble, clean, and maintain operating equipment: pressure fryer, open fryer, grill, temperature gauges.
· Cleans, cuts, prepares, and cooks meat, poultry and all food items to a safe temperature.
· Prepares and cooks various items according to menus, and customer orders.
· Washes cooking equipment such as pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other pieces as needed.
· Develops, compiles, and maintains food records regarding use and expenditures.
· Assists with inventories of supplies and equipment.
· Provides feedback on menu items.
· Ensures the cleanliness and functional operation of galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece.
- Trains new employees.
- Follows proper safety procedures when handling and/or preparing food.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Good verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and read English/Spanish.
· Ability to operate available equipment, such as grills, fryers, cash registers, calculators, scanners, etc.
· Intermediate understanding of and ability to learn sanitation and regulations for workplace safety as required by local and state regulations.
· Intermediate food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics, such as food safety preferred.
· A food handler’s certificate as required by local and state regulations.
· Successful completion of on-the-job training.
· Two-years relevant experience working in a restaurant that serves breakfast.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods standing and working on grill, or other equipment.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
· Will need to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
- Lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Kneel, bend, twist and stoop
- Reach and grasp objects (including above head and below waistline)
- Cleaning tables, floors and other areas of the Restaurant

Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
