Job Overview
We are seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee our team of trailer mechanics while also managing the onboarding and orientation of new drivers. This role requires strong leadership, technical trailer maintenance knowledge, and the ability to train and support incoming drivers to ensure safety and efficiency in our yard operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to multitask, and have experience in fleet operations, driver training, and equipment maintenance..
Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the fleet, including maintenance and repairs for vehicles.
- Oversee the daily work of trailer mechanics, ensuring all maintenance and repairs are completed efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle operation and safety.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for vehicle procurement, maintenance services, and parts supply.
- Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role within transportation or logistics IS A MUST!
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing data related to fleet performance.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- A valid CDL A is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
