Associate, Commercial Litigation Experience (Remote/FL)-finance litigation/mortgage foreclosure experience
Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo is looking for an Associate Attorney to join one of our Florida/NY offices. The Ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience. This position can be hybrid or fully remote, but candidates must be licensed to practice in the state of Florida and or New York.
Job Description-candidates with collections experience or consumer finance litigation/mortgage foreclosure experience
- Research the details and evidence involved in cases, review client documentation, or pleadings previously filed in a case, as well as applicable law.
- Interpret case law and decisions handed down by other applicable courts. This can involve analyzing the effects of many factors that might have been involved in other cases.
- Draft defensive motions including motions for protective order, motions to quash, etc.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, and other documents, such as legal memorandums, and settlement agreements.
- Diligently advocate for a client's rights and best interests.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed attorney in Florida/NY.
- Must have a great work ethic and work well in a team setting.
- Must be highly motivated & self-starter.
- Must be a professional with good business acumen.
Skill Sets
- An attorney must remain unflappable when things go wrong in court in front of a critical audience.
- Communication skills: An attorney must be able to communicate well both in writing and orally.
- The ideal candidate will have a heightened sense of urgency and super analytical skills.
- We are looking for an attorney who is organized and always prepared.
- Commercial Litigation experience preferred.
