Warehouse & Logistics Manager
Location: Abilene, TX (Onsite)
Duration: Minimum 6-Month Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations at a warehouse supporting telecommunications construction projects in Abilene, TX. This individual will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating material movement, and ensuring accurate tracking of equipment used across multiple projects.
The warehouse and storage yard are located at the same facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and attached equipment yard.
- Receive and record incoming material shipments.
- Coordinate with contractors picking up equipment and materials for active projects.
- Track inventory movement, ensuring all materials issued and returned are accurately documented.
- Assign equipment and materials to the appropriate projects and maintain detailed inventory records.
- Monitor inventory levels and help maintain established budget thresholds.
- Work closely with leadership on inventory planning and budget management, with increasing budget responsibilities over time.
- Ensure warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain inventory records using Microsoft Excel and Sonar Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing warehouse operations or inventory for construction, telecommunications, utilities, or a related industry.
- Experience tracking equipment and materials from receipt through project allocation.
- Working knowledge of inventory management processes and warehouse best practices.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Experience with Sonar Technologies Warehouse Management System (WMS) strongly preferred.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple contractors and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Forklift Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting telecommunications or utility construction projects.
- Experience monitoring inventory budgets or maintaining spending thresholds.
- Previous leadership or warehouse supervisory experience
