Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals with RBT certifications, to provide essential care and support to individuals with varying needs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for those they assist, ensuring their safety, well-being, and independence. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering positive relationships and delivering personalized care in a respectful and dignified manner.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s specific needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting social interaction and engagement.
- Monitor client health and behavior, observing any changes or concerns that may arise.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required by agency policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs as necessary.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to dementia care, first aid, and patient observation.
Requirements
- Experience in long-term care or home care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Previous experience in nursing homes or similar environments is a plus.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is desirable.
- Strong observational skills to monitor client health and behavior effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
