Position Summary
The IT Transition Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation, transition, of technology projects and initiatives across the organization. With a primary focus on business systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, thin client computing environments, network infrastructure, and information security.
Open to full-time, part-time, or contract opportunities.
Works with executive and operational management to identify business needs, define project requirements, establish priorities, manage implementation schedules and resources, and deliver technology solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and business processes. Ensures the availability, stability, security, and effective integration of the organization's technology systems.
The ideal candidate is technically capable, organized, patient, and comfortable working directly with employees to identify problems, troubleshoot issues, and develop practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation and transition to new software, systems, and technology platforms.
- Coordinate with software vendors, consultants, and outside IT providers during system implementations and upgrades.
- Support the migration of data from existing systems to new platforms.
- Help verify that migrated data is complete and accurate.
- Test new systems, processes, workflows, and functionality prior to full implementation.
- Identify problems during implementation and work with the appropriate parties to resolve them.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to employees during and after system transitions.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, user-access, network, and system-related issues.
- Serve as an internal point of contact for employees experiencing technology-related problems.
- Determine whether issues can be resolved internally or need to be escalated to an outside IT provider or software vendor.
- Help establish consistent processes and best practices for using company systems.
- Review current processes and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.
- Assist departments with developing improved electronic workflows and reducing unnecessary manual processes.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, licenses, equipment, and user access.
- Support data security, backups, system updates, and cybersecurity practices in coordination with the company's IT provider.
- Track open IT issues and follow through to ensure they are resolved.
- Communicate system changes, outages, updates, and new procedures to employees.
- Assist with future technology projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leads user acceptance testing, system testing, implementation, and post-implementation reviews for new and enhanced information systems. Ensures solutions meet defined business and technical requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Business Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Project Management Skills
- Previous experience with IT support, software implementation, ERP systems, system migration, or business technology preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment is a plus.
- Strong computer and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows-based environments.
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical employees.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple issues and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multiple departments and outside vendors.
