Front Desk Agent
Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will create a welcoming atmosphere while providing exceptional customer service throughout each guest's stay. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Front Office staff are responsible for greeting guests, making reservations, checking guests in and out, and handling guest inquiries and concerns.
Primary Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
- Perform guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently.
- Process reservations, cancellations, modifications, and walk-in reservations.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to guest inquiries.
- Verify guest identification and payment methods according to hotel policies.
- Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payments accurately.
- Balance cash drawer and complete required shift reports.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns.
- Resolve guest issues or escalate them to management when necessary.
- Promote the Choice Privileges Rewards Program and hotel amenities.
- Maintain accurate guest records using the hotel's Property Management System (choiceADVANTAGE experience is a plus).
- Coordinate room availability with the housekeeping department.
- Communicate maintenance concerns and guest requests promptly.
- Assist with laundry, light cleaning, stocking, or breakfast duties when business demands require.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and lobby area.
- Follow all Choice Hotels brand standards and hotel policies.
- Ensure guest safety, confidentiality, and security procedures are followed.
- Work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous hotel or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Choice Hotels systems (choiceADVANTAGE) preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Cash handling experience.
- Sales and upselling experience.
