Job Summary
Pizzazz, an artisan pizza shop near Union Square, is looking for a reliable and motivated Pizza Prep Cook / Pizza Helper to join our small, hands-on kitchen team.
We make our pizzas with carefully selected, high-quality ingredients and take pride in doing things properly, from prep to the finished pizza.
This is primarily a prep position, but we’re looking for someone who also has some experience working with pizza and can assist our pizza makers with assembling and finishing pizzas, especially during busy service.
You do not need to be an expert pizzaiolo. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable in a kitchen, works clean and efficiently, pays attention to detail, and is willing to learn and grow with our team.
Responsibilities
- Handle daily kitchen and pizza prep, including sauces, toppings, vegetables, cheeses, and other ingredients
- Assist with dough and other pizza preparation as needed
- Help assemble and finish pizzas during busy service
- Keep ingredients organized, stocked, and ready for service
- Use kitchen equipment safely and properly
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Work closely with our pizza makers and the rest of the kitchen team
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food prep experience
- Some previous experience working with pizza is strongly preferred
- Basic knife and food preparation skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Availability to work approximately 20–40 hours per week
Pay: $17–$23 per hour, based on experience
