Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Entry/Shipping Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately entering and managing data within our systems while coordinating shipping activities to ensure timely and efficient order processing. This role requires strong clerical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Data Entry Duties:
- Input and update data into databases and systems with precision.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files to ensure easy retrieval of information.
- Perform regular audits of data to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including typing documents and preparing reports.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline data entry processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with company policies.
Shipping Duties:
- Prepare and process shipping orders, including generating packing slips, shipping labels, and invoices.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery, resolving issues when delays occur.
- Perform inventory checks to confirm order accuracy before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs for reporting purposes.
- Assist with packaging and preparing items for shipment to ensure secure delivery.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to prioritize and process outgoing shipments.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (CSV), is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Basic math skills for data verification, inventory counts, and calculations.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or clerical/administrative roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent typing skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate shipping software and coordinate with various shipping carriers.
- Familiarity with inventory management processes is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages (typically up to 50 lbs) preferred but not mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
