Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will manage core accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial standards, and support the accurate processing of financial data. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial operations and contribute to the company’s continued growth.
Duties
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions using various financial software such as Quick Books, Sage.
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Conduct data entry and analysis of financial information using Excel and other tools to support budgeting, account analysis, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) regulations through meticulous documentation and internal controls.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures when applicable.
- Support month-end closing processes by preparing detailed account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within public accounting or corporate settings.
- Familiarity with various financial software including Quick Books, Sage, or similar systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data accurately using Excel data analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable management
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to lead, implement processes and procedures into the department
- 5 plus years experience is encouraged
