JOB Performs a variety of circulation tasks related to the operation of the Library on a flexible work schedule including days, nights and weekends for up to 18 hours a week. Must be a self-motivated individual who is computer literate and able to multi-task in an occasionally hectic environment. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Works at the circulation desk.

Circulates and renews library materials. Empties book drop.

Registers patrons and collects fines and fees.

Assists with deliveries and interlibrary loan transactions.

Refers informational questions as well as questions on the use of library materials and equipment to reference librarians.

Responds to telephone inquiries about library programs and services.

Shelves library materials

Mends and processes library materials.

Assists reference librarian in closing the library.

Performs other library tasks as assigned.

Knowledge of basic library materials, policies and procedures as found in the library personnel manual and the Eastpointe Memorial Library employee manual.

Performs other duties as required.

The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, climb, use hands and fingers, talk, hear and view written documents. The employee uses hand strength to grasp tools to repair library material. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or remove materials of light to heavy weight (up to 25 pounds) and must push/pull heavy objects (up to 120 pounds).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
