American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum night shift position requiring Epic experience, Magnesium Sulfate proficiency, and a willingness to float to L&D and NICU.

Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum unit in a hospital setting

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15

Level 1 Nursery and Postpartum work settings

Epic EMR experience required
-
Floating to L&D and NICU required based on patient care needs
-
Active WA RN license or compact license currently in hand
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications (AHA)

Minimum 3 years of Mother-Baby/Post Partum RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Magnesium Sulfate therapy experience required

Proficiency in IV therapy, blood and blood product administration, Pitocin (oxytocin), antihypertensives, and antiseizure medications
-
Skills in postpartum care including couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, episiotomy/incision care, bladder assessment, and Foley catheter insertion
-
Newborn care skills including newborn assessment, thermoregulation, phototherapy, cord care, car seat education, and discharge teaching
-
Experience with cesarean section recovery, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and multiple births
-
Experience with neonatal conditions including low birth weight, large for gestational age, newborn hypoglycemia, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome

Pain management experience including opioids, PCA (IV), and pain assessment
-
Provide couplet care to postpartum patients and newborns across vaginal and cesarean deliveries
-
Support baby-friendly protocols including breastfeeding instruction, breast milk collection and storage, and breast engorgement management
-
Administer and monitor Magnesium Sulfate therapy for pregnancy-induced hypertension and seizure prevention
-
Required modules are completed during orientation and signed off by facility managers, with an average completion time of 8–12 hours
-
Former employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers

Travel pairs are accepted
-
Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment; all RTO must be disclosed upfront and cannot be modified after submission

No block schedule requests will be considered
