Job Summary:
Production Assembler II must have the ability to read manufacturing work instructions, engineering drawings, routings, and bills of material. This role is responsible for assembling, calibrating, testing, and inspecting electro-mechanical components, finished instruments, and consumable products while maintaining compliance with manufacturing and quality standards. The Production Assembler II supports product quality, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Service teams to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Assemble and test units according to work instructions and quality procedures.
Perform HIPOT testing, electrical safety testing, and calibration using various testing equipment.
Assemble and test electro-mechanical components and assemblies following bills of material and manufacturing documentation.
Assemble, package, label, and inspect consumable products according to work instructions and quality standards.
Safely operate standard hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, wire cutters, cordless screwdrivers, and crimpers.
Prepare units for final quality inspection in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy within assigned production cells.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while actively participating in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
Assemble, calibrate, and test the majority of Nova Biomedical product lines, including critical electrical and mechanical components.
Support the Service department with instrument repairs, component assembly, and testing as needed.
Collaborate with Engineering and provide feedback to support process and product development improvements.
Operate automated production equipment used to manufacture, package, and label consumable products.
Document manufacturing and quality issues using established procedures and recommend process improvements.
Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Three to five years of small assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in crimping, soldering, and assembling cables and wire harnesses.
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing work instructions, engineering drawings, routings, and bills of material.
Ability to inspect and verify completed assemblies for accuracy and quality.
Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements.
Experience participating in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate hand tools and gauges.
Understanding of manufacturing health and safety requirements and associated regulations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and perform repetitive assembly tasks for extended periods.
Ability to use hands, fingers, and hand tools to assemble small mechanical and electrical components.
Ability to visually inspect components and finished products.
Ability to work safely within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required.
Ability to operate manufacturing equipment and testing devices.

Targeted Salary Range: $22-$25/hour
Working Hours: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
