JOB
This position plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment for all patrons. We are seeking responsible, safety-focused individuals to join our aquatics team in a seasonal lifeguard role.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor swimmers and enforce established water safety rules and procedures

Respond to emergency situations, including performing rescues and administering first aid, CPR, AED, and oxygen as required

Assist with swim instruction and aquatic programming as assigned

Maintain pool water quality, safety equipment, and overall facility cleanliness

Provide courteous customer service, assist with admissions, and complete required reports

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education and Experience:
-
Preferred: Six months of experience in lifeguarding or aquatic instruction field.
Special Qualifications:-
Must be at least sixteen (16) years old.

Must possess and maintain the following certifications:
-
CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers
-
Standard First Aid
-
American Red Cross Lifeguard or nationally recognized equivalent.

Within six (6) months of position assignment:
-
Must obtain and maintain American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification

Working Conditions: Work is exposed to outdoor weather conditions or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights, and/or dust.
Risk/Safety Conditions: The position requires exposure to some risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, heavy equipment, assault and battery, communicable disease, etc.).
Physical Activities: Walking, pulling, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, depth perception, climbing, swimming. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Good physical condition and sufficient strength to control struggling adult swimmers.
