Line Cook – Afternoon/Evening Shift
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently on a busy line, understands proper cooking techniques, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality food.
Schedule
- Shift typically begins around 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM
- Work until approximately 8:00 PM
- This position is generally the first cook cut from the kitchen in the evening
- Exact hours may vary depending on business volume
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards
- Work efficiently and safely during service
- Properly operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with other members of the kitchen team
- Assist with prep, stocking, and cleaning as needed
- Ensure food is cooked accurately and consistently during service
Required Kitchen Knowledge
Applicants should have working knowledge and experience using:
- Grills
- Fryers
- Salamanders/Broilers
- Stovetops
- Ovens
Applicants must also have a solid understanding of proper cooking temperatures and desired doneness for various proteins, including the ability to safely and consistently prepare meats to specification.
Qualifications
- Previous line cook or comparable professional kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and proper cooking temperatures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions consistently
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and presentation
- Ability to remain organized while handling multiple orders
- Willingness to help with general kitchen duties when needed
