Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations using systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and proper seating arrangements
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, utilizing POS systems such as Micros or similar technology
- Deliver food orders promptly from the kitchen to tables, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic meal assembly or garnishing
- Clear and clean tables efficiently, bussing dishes and maintaining a tidy dining area
- Support beverage preparation and service, including refilling drinks and handling basic bar duties
- Maintain food safety standards by handling dishes and ingredients properly and adhering to hygiene protocols
- Provide exceptional in-person customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and fostering positive guest relations
- Handle cash transactions accurately during checkout and assist with order taking over the phone when required
- Support kitchen staff with dishwashing, cleaning, and general sanitation duties to ensure a safe environment
- Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere by communicating effectively with colleagues and management
Requirements
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service background is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and guest interaction abilities
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and POS operations
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices and sanitation procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the restaurant, and lift moderate loads as needed
- Experience with restaurant technology such as OpenTable or Micros POS systems is a plus
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, including knife skills or meat cutting is advantageous
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding guest services in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in busy moments
