JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Facility Manager supports the daily operations of a self-storage facility. This role handles onsite payment processing, paperwork and invoice filing, and ensures deposits and legal mailings are properly recorded and processed. This is a property management position that also includes hands-on facility upkeep, light maintenance, cleaning, and coordinating with contractors for repairs as needed. The Assistant Facility Manager interacts directly with customers and tenants daily, including selling retail items such as locks, boxes, tape, and other packing supplies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide quality, courteous customer service in person, over the phone, and via email to tenants and customers.
Assist customers with questions and troubleshoot basic account or unit issues.
Accept and process payments and receivables (cash, check, credit card).
Explain lease terms and facility policies to tenants and Leads.
Check unit locks and walk facility grounds to ensure security and upkeep.
Clean vacated units and maintain overall facility cleanliness.
Sell retail items such as locks, boxes, tape, and packing supplies.
Report facility updates, concerns, and daily activity to the Facility Manager and District Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General administrative skills, including data entry and record-keeping.
Computer, phone, and software proficiency, Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
Strong customer service skills with attention to detail.
Ability to think critically and respond quickly to day-to-day issues.
Prior property management or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
Handy-person skills are a plus.
TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT
New team members complete a hands-on training period of approximately 90–100 days, working alongside experienced staff to learn daily operations, systems, and procedures. Pay during this period falls within the posted range. Following training, pay rate increases, bonuses, and promotional opportunities may be available based on demonstrated knowledge retention and performance, these are earned, not guaranteed, and reflect each team member's individual progress.
FACILITY HOURS
Full-Time
Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Every other Saturday: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
This is always a 5-day work week, on weeks that include a scheduled Saturday shift, team members are given a corresponding day off during the week.
Part-time hours are flexible based on availability; however, part-time team members are still required to work the every-other-Saturday shift, and all shifts must fall within our standard 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM hours (no partial shifts).
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
