About Soil Plus
Soil Plus is a locally owned and operated business proudly serving Hawaiʻi County since 1989. We provide locally sourced soil blends, cinder, mulch, compost, and aggregates. We are a small but mighty team, and we are looking for an organized, customer-focused team member to help keep our sales, deliveries, and office operations running smoothly.
The Role
The Sales & Dispatch Coordinator handles our in-person and phone sales, coordinates delivery routes using local island knowledge, and maintains accurate operational records. This is a hands-on office position for someone who enjoys solving problems, building customer trust, and keeping deliveries on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Support
You will welcome walk-in customers and handle incoming phone requests. You will provide product and pricing information, process point-of-sale purchases in QuickBooks Desktop, and enter work orders accurately.
Dispatch
You will build and maintain daily delivery schedules, coordinating driver dispatch and routing. You will use your knowledge of Hawaiʻi Island roads to resolve daily scheduling issues as they arise.
Compliance
You will organize driver, vehicle, maintenance, and safety records. You will track driver attendance and ensure necessary documentation is kept current.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable candidate with a friendly customer-service focus and a proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You should have experience with POS transactions, basic math skills, and a strong attention to detail. A practical understanding of Hawaiʻi Island roads and delivery routing is required. You must be adept at learning new software and comfortable using business systems for scheduling, tracking, and communication. Finally, you must be available to work Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work occasional Saturdays as operational needs require.
Preferred Experience
Experience using QuickBooks Desktop Pro Enterprise or comparable bookkeeping software is strongly preferred. Prior experience in the landscaping, construction, transportation, or bulk-materials industry is a significant advantage.
Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
