We recently relocated to a brand new stand alone building in Downtown Maryville and combined forces with Marble Slab Creamery to create a unique dessert destination in Greenway Village along the Blount County Greenbelt.
We are seeking a full time Cake Decorator / Manager who takes pride in craftsmanship, leadership, and maintaining high standards. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and is ready to help drive quality, accountability, and team performance.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- Tips are part of total compensation and typically add an additional $3 to $4 per hour on top of base pay
- Full time position
Position Overview
The Cake Decorator / Manager is responsible for overseeing cake production, ensuring brand standards are met, and leading the team by example. This role requires strong decorating skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage daily operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Decorate custom cakes and cookie cakes with precision and creativity
- Execute branded designs while maintaining quality and consistency
- Manage daily cake production schedule and inventory needs
- Train and mentor team members on decorating standards and techniques
- Oversee food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization
- Assist with customer orders, consultations, and special requests
- Support front of house operations as needed
- Ensure accountability, productivity, and team performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
Qualifications
- Proven cake decorating experience required
- Leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and design execution
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced retail food environment
- Dependable and solution oriented
