Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and callers and address their concerns in a positive and professional manner with eye contact and a smile.
- Schedule appropriate appointment times for patients and physicians using the computerized scheduling system.
- Give new patients all appropriate forms to fill out and ensure forms are correctly completed.
- Request required information from patients to file, such as driver’s licenses, insurance/Medi-Cal/Medicare cards, proof of income, etc.
- Keep patients informed of appointment status as they check-in.
- Collect payments and/or co-payments for services as needed.
- Verify insurance/Medi-Cal/Medicare eligibility.
- Courteously answer patient inquiries within scope of knowledge
- In the event a patient is late to his/her appointment for over 15 minutes that would interfere with the rest of the appointment schedule, politely tell the patient that he/she must reschedule the appointment.
- Give patients reminder calls the day prior to their respected appointment.
- Prepare lab order for blood work according to their visit status (cash, insurance or medical patient)
- Record all patient check-ins on computer.
- Print out appointment schedule daily.
- Attend all monthly team/clinical meetings as scheduled.
- Handle patient conflicts in a calm and professional manner and refer patient to supervisor if unresolved.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Receive and sort faxes according to the fax documents.
- Release and fax out medical records as requested.
- Balance cashier and money report at the end of the day
- Check in / check out visitors in accordance with Nhan Hoa policy.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
