Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Maintenance Assistant and be at the forefront of keeping our fleet running smoothly and efficiently! In this vital role, you will support the maintenance and repair of company vehicles & equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance. . This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in fleet management and vehicle maintenance within a fast-paced, energetic setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and scheduled preventive maintenance on trucks per manufacturer/DOT schedules
- Conduct routine inspections (lights, belts, hoses, tires, wipers) and log findings
- Grease chassis components and lubricate moving parts
- Assist with DOT-required inspections and maintain accurate service records
- Check and top off engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid
- Identify and report fluid leaks (oil, coolant, hydraulic, fuel)
- Assist in replacing or repairing damaged hydraulic lines and fittings
- Check hydraulic fluid levels and top off as needed.
- Assist with brake pad/shoe replacement and rotor/drum service
- Check and top off brake fluid; assist with brake system bleeding
- Support air brake system inspections and adjustments
- Assist with tire changes, rotations, and pressure checks
- Follow all safety protocols (PPE, lockout/tagout, lifting procedures)
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for record-keeping and
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technicians, drivers, and management.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully while demonstrating a proactive attitude toward learning new skills
- .Physical stamina to perform inspections, move parts, and assist with repairs as needed.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in vehicle maintenance is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
