Job Overview
We are a real estate development firm focused on multi-family projects, and we’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this is a hands-on role for someone who knows their way around real estate development accounting and can own the day-to-day work that keeps our financials accurate and on schedule. You’ll work closely with our finance and project teams in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment.
This position is based in our office and requires on-site presence five days a week.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple operating, escrow, and project accounts
- Complete accounts payable (AP) reconciliations and ensure accurate, timely processing of vendor invoices
- Maintain the general ledger and carry financials through to the balance sheet and profit & loss (P&L) statements
- Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding, invoice review, payment scheduling, and issue resolution
- Oversee cash management, including monitoring balances, funding requests, and disbursements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with project-level accounting and reporting for active developments
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records and documentation
- Take on additional accounting tasks typical of a Staff Accountant role as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field — or currently pursuing an accounting degree
- 3–4 years of accounting experience in real estate, preferably in multi-family real estate development
- Hands-on experience with a robust real estate development accounting platform is required (e.g., a full-featured development/property accounting system); NetSuite experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting through financial statement preparation
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Netsuite experience a plus
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
