Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Level A Diesel Mechanic with 10+ years of hands-on heavy-duty diesel experience to join our team.
This position is responsible for advanced diagnostics, repairs, and engine rebuilds, as well as complex repairs involving transmissions, rear ends, electrical systems, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and other major vehicle systems.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, self-sufficient mechanic who can diagnose complex problems, determine the root cause, and complete repairs independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems
- Diagnose and repair complex engine performance and drivability issues
- Perform major engine repairs and complete diesel engine rebuilds to manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical systems, wiring, and components
- Remove, repair, and replace transmissions and rear-end assemblies
- Perform advanced suspension, steering, and alignment repairs
- Diagnose and repair wheel-end and brake systems
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems
- Perform inspections and identify necessary repairs to ensure vehicle safety, reliability, and compliance
- Use air tools, torches, welders, and other shop equipment safely and effectively
- Complete accurate service records and repair documentation
- Follow all DOT/FMCSA requirements, safety procedures, and company policies
- Work independently and assist with complex repairs and troubleshooting as needed
- Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience
- Current Cummins or Freightliner certification
- Advanced experience with diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Hands-on experience performing diesel engine rebuilds
- Advanced transmission and rear-end repair, removal, and replacement experience
- Advanced electrical diagnostics and repair experience
- Advanced suspension, steering, and alignment experience
- Advanced wheel-end and brake diagnostics and repair
- HVAC diagnostics and repair experience
- Proficiency using air tools, torches, welders, and other mechanic tools
- FMCSA/state-required inspection certification
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with CNG systems, including trailers, tanks, and gas systems
- Hot Work experience
- CDL Class A or B
- Experience working in both shop and field environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision

Wage Range: 45.00 - 50.00 per hour
