Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. Duties
- Set up and operate punch presses, stamping presses, forming machines, and other metal fabrication equipment with precision.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine tooling setup and production specifications.
- Perform CNC programming and operate CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and plasma cutting equipment to achieve complex component designs.
- Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments and measurement techniques to ensure parts meet strict tolerances and quality standards.
- Maintain safety protocols during machine operation, including proper tooling setup, safety guard installation, and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Assist with assembly processes when required, ensuring components are correctly fitted and finished according to specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating punch presses, stamping presses, or similar forming machinery in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in CNC programming and operation of CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Proficient with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools for quality control.
- Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills for machining calculations, and understanding of safety standards in production environments.
- Ability to operate hand tools and set up tooling on various machines efficiently.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes including forming, welding, and assembly is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with strong attention to detail ensures consistent quality output.
