Experienced Excavator Operator / Working Crew Lead

Schedule: Full-time, year-round work, overtime available in busy season
Buckhorn Capital Holdings llc is building a new excavation crew and looking for an experienced Excavator Operator who can help set the standard from day one.
This is not a seat-filler position. We are looking for someone who knows how to operate, understands jobsite flow, can work with a crew, and takes pride in doing high-quality work.
BuckhornRidge llc is a growing excavation company based in Bloomsburg, PA. The owner has 40+ years of industry experience, is hands-on, and believes in rewarding employees who perform, take responsibility, and help the company grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating excavators and other equipment as needed
- Helping lead and support a new excavation crew
- Knowledge of in cab GPS systems
- Reading site plans, topo maps, and job layouts
- Supporting layout for foundations, utilities, driveways, retention basins, pools, spas, outdoor kitchens, and related excavation work
- Working around CAT equipment and helping maintain equipment properly
- Setting up and working with benchmarks, batter boards, and site layout
- Keeping job sites clean, safe, and productive
- Leading safety tailgate meetings on-site
- Communicating clearly with the owner, crew, and other trades
- Representing the company professionally on every job site
What We’re Looking For
- Experienced excavator operator
- Able to read plans and understand grades
- Comfortable working on residential and light commercial excavation sites
- Able to operate safely around structures, utilities, workers, and finished areas
- Valid driver’s license, CDL A preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Drug-free and safety-minded
- Shows up on time and ready to work
- Professional with clients, trades, and team members
- Able to lift 75 lbs when needed
- Willing to help outside the machine when the job requires it
Strong Bonus Skills
- GPS/layout experience
- Experience operating multiple types of equipment
- Experience with CAT equipment
- Ability to help lead a crew
- Foundation, hardscape, pool, utility, grading, or sitework experience
Compensation
Pay is $24-$37/hr based on experience and ability.
Higher pay is available for someone who can operate, read plans, support layout, help lead the crew, and positively contribute to production and profitability.
Raises are based on performance, responsibility, reliability, and contribution to the company’s bottom line.
