Job Title: Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I
Location: Avon, CT 06001
Pay: $21/hour
Schedule:
- Monday–Wednesday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
- Thursday–Friday: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Alternating Saturdays
- Flexibility required for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company to patients, providing a professional and welcoming experience. Responsibilities include accurately and safely collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, maintaining patient confidentiality, and following established procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy and clinical/forensic specimen collection and processing.
- Provide skilled, safe, and accurate blood draws, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Complete daily activities accurately and on time with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a safe, professional environment and promote a positive company image.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and attention to confidentiality and accuracy.
- Provide excellent patient/customer service.
- Perform keyboarding and data-entry tasks accurately.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience; 1+ year preferred.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Keyboard/data-entry experience required.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Pay: Up to $21.00 per hour
