ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Evaluates, selects, requisitions, receives, and organizes books, multimedia, and other instructional materials and equipment.

Suggests appropriate books and multimedia to students for classroom assignments and personal access.

Assists students and faculty with use of public access catalog.

Assign students and faculty with online searches and research projects.

Confers with faculty about provision of appropriate materials for classroom instruction.

Confers with parents, faculty, public librarians, and community organizations to develop programs to enrich student communication skills.

Investigate technologies that will improve services.

Works with principal to establish appropriate use of resources.

Plans and carries out a student instruction program for the school library media center.

Establish and maintain a stimulating, attractive environment for learning.

Know and follow procedures which have been established for the health, safety, and security of students.

Achieve an in-depth understanding of the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional characteristics (in a growth context) of the age group of the students accessing the library resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Mass certification in Library /Media.

May be responsible for the supervision of Library Aides
