Position Summary
Gulf Coast Thermo King is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Parts Clerk / Parts Counter Representative to join our growing team. This position is responsible for supporting customers, technicians, and fleet accounts by providing accurate parts identification, inventory management, and outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Assist walk-in, telephone, and fleet customers with parts inquiries and sales.
- Accurately identify Thermo King, TriPac APU, and aftermarket replacement parts.
- Provide pricing, availability, and product recommendations using Thermo King and dealership systems.
- Process customer orders from initial quote through final delivery.
- Develop positive relationships with customers while delivering exceptional service.
Inventory Management
- Pull, stage, package, and fulfill parts orders for customer pickup, delivery, and technician work orders.
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and freight processing.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Monitor and replenish mobile service truck inventory.
- Process OEM warranty returns, core returns, and vendor returns according to company procedures.
Operations
- Support daily Parts Department operations while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
- Assist with inventory organization and warehouse improvements.
- Work closely with Service Advisors and Technicians to ensure timely parts availability.
- Source, order, and maintain shop supplies and consumables to support daily service department operations while ensuring cost-effective purchasing and adequate inventory levels.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
QualificationsPreferred Experience
- Previous experience in a Parts Department, warehouse, or customer service environment.
- Experience with Thermo King, heavy-duty truck, diesel, trailer, or transportation refrigeration parts is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret parts catalogs and exploded-view diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for this customer-facing position.
Computer Skills
Experience with:
- DIS Quantum (preferred)
- Thermo King Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC)
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
