Position Overview
The Medical Assistant will work closely with our podiatrists and office staff to assist with patient care, maintain clinical workflow, and support front-desk operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced medical setting, and values compassionate patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties

Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment

Assist the podiatrist with patient examinations and procedures

Perform clinical tasks such as taking vitals, updating medications and medical histories, and documenting patient information

Coordinate patient care by following up on lab results, imaging results, and outgoing referrals

Provide patient education on foot and ankle care, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions

Manage clinical supplies, sterilize instruments, and ensure proper infection control

Assist with wound care, bandaging, the diabetic shoe program, and orthotic fittings
Clerical Duties

Greet patients, verify appointments, manage check-in/check-out procedures, and manage the flow of appointments

Answer phones, schedule visits, and coordinate referrals

Verify insurance, process authorizations, and collect copays

Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system

Handle office tasks such as scanning, filing, and managing correspondence

Support billing processes and communicate with patients regarding account questions

Requirements:
- Previous medical assistant experience preferred; podiatry experience a plus
