Butter Beans provides nutritious, wholesome meals for charter schools, private schools, and summer camps throughout the New York City and tri-state area. Butter Beans seeks like minded individuals to support our school cafeteria service team. This position of Senior Supervisor reports to the company’s management. This is a seasonal position that follows the school calendar year.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Start date would be the first week of August.
Commute: Must be able to commute to Long Island City, Queens
Responsibilities:
Inspect and verify all outgoing boxes and packages for accuracy, completeness, and proper labeling before dispatch
Cross-check order manifests against physical product counts to ensure zero-error fulfillment
Identify and resolve discrepancies in orders before drivers depart
Maintain organized staging areas for outgoing and incoming product
Assist drivers with loading, sequencing, and securing product in delivery vehicles
Serve as the on-site point of contact for driver questions, concerns, and last-minute order changes
Supervise and direct commissary staff during loading and receiving shifts
Ensure all product is stored, handled, and transported in compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, local health codes)
Conduct temperature checks and condition inspections on perishable items
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in logistics, commissary, warehouse, or food distribution operations
Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify large volumes of orders accurately
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Experience with inventory or delivery management software is a plus
Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain)
