i-Labs is a growing CLIA-certified specialty diagnostic laboratory in Oakdale, Minnesota, specializing in high-complexity immunology and infectious disease testing. We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist who is looking for a highly flexible part-time opportunity.
We are looking for someone who can commit to at least two 4-hour shifts per week based on their scheduling preference. We are open to temporary/short-term or long-term. We are happy to work with the right candidate to develop a schedule that fits both your availability and our laboratory's needs.
This position is ideal for someone who is retired, semi-retired, working PRN, balancing family commitments, or simply looking for supplemental income while continuing to use their laboratory expertise.
*We do have another position available for those seeking full-time, in line with our business hours.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with laboratory SOPs and CLIA requirements.
- Receive, process, and prepare patient specimens.
- Perform specialty diagnostic testing, which could include ELISpot, flow cytometry, ELISA and other immunology assays following laboratory training.
- Complete quality control, instrument maintenance, and required documentation.
- Review and accurately document laboratory testing activities.
- Assist with general laboratory operations
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Support a collaborative laboratory team committed to quality patient testing.
Required Qualifications
- Must have Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality laboratory results.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively and assist in other general lab operations, as needed.
- Our laboratory's standard business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Candidates working outside of those hours must be comfortable making sound decisions independently and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing high-complexity testing in a clinical laboratory.
- Experience with immunology, infectious disease testing, flow cytometry, or specialty diagnostics.
Schedule:
- 2–4 days per week (you choose)
- Approximately 8–25 hours per week, depending on laboratory workload and your availability.
- Set your own hours-days, nights, weekends, etc.
- Strong preference for those who can commit to 1-2 Saturday's per month to assist with ELISpot, but not required.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
