Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers accurately, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer management with precision.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales.
- Maintain knowledge of store products through merchandising and product demos to effectively assist customers.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean, inviting, and well-organized.
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Support store operations by assisting with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
Requirements
- Previous retail experience is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual environments if applicable.
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as making change and totaling sales accurately.
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting team efforts.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and handling merchandise.
- Excellent phone etiquette, customer service orientation, and a friendly demeanor.
