Position Overview
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing exceptional guest service, maintaining bar cleanliness, and ensuring all guests have an enjoyable and safe experience. This role requires strong multitasking skills, product knowledge, and a friendly, professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and warmly; create a welcoming bar atmosphere
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty drinks according to recipes and standards
- Take guest orders, answer menu questions, and make recommendations
- Check identification to ensure guests meet legal drinking age requirements
- Maintain knowledge of current drink menus, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately; operate POS system
- Maintain a clean and organized bar, including restocking beer, liquor, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and glassware
- Monitor guest behavior and consumption; follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Close and open the bar according to procedures (cleaning, stocking, counting drawers, etc.)
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktail preparation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be 21+ and possess required local/state alcohol service certifications
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
