Inventory Control Specialist
SUMMARY
This position will report directly to the Assistant Production Manager. This role will perform a variety of duties relative to inventory control. Job includes annual physical inventory, development, and implementation of inventory control processes, inventory adjustments, and research. They will need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Be able to manage competing priorities, provide sound, logical planning of activities, and be a team player. The Inventory Control Specialist is also responsible for providing general distribution support in the forms of picking, packing, tagging, clerical, inventory control, QA, warehousing, and reorder.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe environment at all times while performing assigned duties and for all employee and customer traffic.
- Picking customer work orders as assigned by the Assistant Production Manager.
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to associates for processing.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping
- Advise Production Manager of any issues that may arise in the pick line to ensure the daily shipping goals are met.
- Keeping up with the daily order picking requirements as determined by the Assistant Production Manager.
- Advising Assistant Production Manager when there is an “out of stock” item.
- The position will also require the individual to be flexible and provide support in other areas of distribution, as needed. i.e. Shipping, Tagging, Picking, etc.
- Ensure all inventory movement transactions are currently in the system and communicate status to superiors.
- Assist with cycle count process. Including but not limited to, cycle count data entry, cycle count verifications and contributing to the corporate goal of 99% accuracy.
- Assist with any other warehouse related functions as required.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Inventory Control.
- Must have knowledge of Inventory Control.
- Must be proficient in inventory ERP operating system.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must be able to understand oral and written directions and work instructions in English
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for approximately eight (8) hours per day
- Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel freely
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to identify team lifting opportunities for items over 25 pounds
- Fine manipulation or motor skills are essential

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
