Job Overview
Join our team as an Internal Parts Associate and play a critical role in keeping our service department operating efficiently. In this fast-paced dealership environment, you will work closely with service technicians and advisors to identify, source, and deliver the correct parts needed for vehicle repairs. Your attention to detail, automotive knowledge, and sense of urgency will help minimize technician downtime, improve shop productivity, and ensure an exceptional service experience for our customers.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive parts experience who enjoys working behind the scenes to support a high-performing service team.
Responsibilities
- Assist service technicians in identifying and obtaining the correct parts needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Research parts using manufacturer catalogs and dealership software to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Maintain efficient communication with technicians and service advisors regarding parts status, backorders, and special-order items.
- Stock, organize, and maintain inventory to ensure parts are readily available and accurately located.
- Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments while maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of fast-moving or low-stock parts.
- Prepare and stage parts for technician repair orders to reduce downtime and improve shop efficiency.
- Process warranty, return, and core parts according to manufacturer and dealership guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department work area.
- Utilize dealership management systems and manufacturer resources to manage inventory and parts transactions.
Experience & Qualifications
- Prior dealership automotive parts experience preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair processes required.
- Experience working with technicians and service departments is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to accurately identify and source parts using electronic catalogs and dealership software.
- Proficiency with computers and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and move automotive parts and supplies as needed.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
